Utilized my research skills to help bring some of the history into context for the cast and production team. In this project, I was able to make a visual lobby display, as well as an informative digital display (self-hosted and programmed.)
Hello! I’m Me JW Crouch.
I’m an interdisciplinary jack-of-many-trades driven by curiosity and a passion for understanding human nature.
My projects blend performance with insights from fields like systems thinking, psychology, and cultural studies, allowing me to explore the ‘why’ behind our actions and relationships.
I believe theatre is more than entertainment; it’s a living laboratory for empathy, connection, and transformative understanding. Through my art, teaching, and mentorship, I aim to support other artists, diversify theatre’s possibilities, and reshape how society sees this timeless medium.

I was able to hone the skill of nurturing tension on stage to fuel narrative momentum. This role was a crucible for exploring the dynamics of tension within an ensemble cast, fostering a charged atmosphere that propelled the discourse and drama.
As the capstone to my directing class, I directed Gerstenberg's four-person one act play that shows the inner personality in a split-actor dynamic.
The role of Death I feel is an undertaking no matter the production. Giving life to this force and entity so central to humanity is an exploration of psychological aspects of one's self and our species.
Worked as the college department's Publicity Manager for three main-stage shows and a student production of Everybody.
Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with a minor in Computer Science, and many inter-disciplinary electives.
TSU Theatre Dept:
"Our students are not specialists; they are not encouraged to stake their futures on a single talent or skill. They are prepared for life and careers of changing conditions and challenges. Our students are characteristically independent both in mind and in their work; they know how to maintain
self-discipline and focus even as circumstances alter or the best plans fail. This program emphasizes generalist study and collaboration as it cultivates each individual’s talents, temperaments, and potential."
